An ode to the teachers

Image
“He who considers too much will perform little” “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts” - Winston Churchill Its so important to have teachers in life, not only during school but for life. Teachers are the ones who keep refining a person to his/her potential, which a person himself/herself may not know. And for that we need to keep the activities in us alive. I feel blessed to be associated with teachers even today, who are refining me in todays time, and they are there to bring the best in me. I feel blessed to be knowing them for all my teachers are wonderful human beings.. spirited, inspiring and full of learnability and full of encouragement. Its difficult being a teacher and even more difficult being an inspiring teacher as the pupil always look for grey areas, where they can find the teacher faltering, so the teacher also needs to reinvent himself/herself in joy, energy, spirits and knowledge. It’s the energy from the teachers which

Simple happiness guide

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant. 2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to. 3. Record your late night shows and get more sleep. 4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement "My purpose is to____ today." 5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy. 6. Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did in 2006. 7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives. 8. Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6. 9. Dream more while you are awake. 10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. 11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts. 12. Try to make at least three people smile each day. 13. Clear your clutter fro

Dancing the way to bliss

I was reading this book as my bed-time read and this happened to be something which caught my attention and had me alert back again to read more on it. I thought of putting this at my blog to keep it like a reminance of the narrate. The book is a story of a girl and this particular chapter talks about how her employer who had offered her a dull and mundane job only to discourage her only to indirectly persuade her to quit on her own, yet she revives not only her own interests but all the collegues of the place of work and astonishingly the whole place becomes a charged place full of synergy from all. Dance to the point of exhaustion, as if you were a mountaineer climbing a hill, a sacred mountain. Dance until you are so out of breath that your organism is forced to obtain oxygen some other way, and it is that, in the end, which will cause you to lose your identity and your relationship with space and time. Dance only to the sound of percussion; repeat the process every day; know that,

I know, I have been craving to be writing for since long and could not make time out. I think I should stop calling this as busy time , for I wanted to write as strongly, I know I could have made time out easily. But I took this time to read what others wrote. To a lot extent I felt inspired and this time I wanted to write as much touche as I could. I don’t think fancy stuff makes an ideal post, but one written with feeling, with complete oneself does. This time I felt quite similar with my dance class, when I was dancing, I didn’t know if there were others in the room, I was just me and enjoying myself and when I finished the teacher said it was most spectacular of me she had seen. And I didn’t do anything unusual here but was just enjoying the feeling one hundred percent and the attitude and choreography joined automatically. I know it’s a very difficult stage to achieve, I took years to feel so happy that the world around didn’t matter, for a few moments. Yeah I know my friend, who

SPARK THE SEXY PART IN UR LIFE

This one is really one of the best words I have read from this author so far. Apart from sharing with most of my friends - I would like to cherish this in my blog. Inaugural Speech for the new batch at the Symbiosis BBA program, Pune 23rd June, 2008 By Chetan Bhagat Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated. The first day in college is one of them. When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates - there is so much to be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it another

Space age.....nah !!

Image
As we are moving in todays world we keep on classifying the time zones to a period - like we had neolithc or stone age period, renaissance, industrial revolution, technology revolution age. Ever pondered what lies ahead of us ! What does future entail in coming times. I have seen a lot of things changing, since the time I was a small child (as far as I can remember) to the days today and I am sure a lot of changes in store. Whats in store - I can only guess. We have moved from basics like using stones for protection, to furnishing the basic human needs for shelter and food and than we moved to luxury catering in technology age - the only aspect left untouched to this heights now is spiritual age. With so much happening around, the gap, which is seen currently shall gain huge momentum in future times, is the spiritual space , which has not been touched so effervescently as yet. The sparks are already there - look at the way Yoga, Reiki, Aura, Meditations etc are taking space. I did a re

My Prayers

Image
Many times we stand in pious places and get lost with what all should we say as a prayer to offer to God. In my purview, its not an interesting conversation that we put our wishlist or pain points standing, in such a peaceful and enjoyable and place full of energy, as it sounds like we remember the originator with always "I want" and "I wish" tag in the talks. This talk should be happy, exuberating, full of love, naughtiness. For God is with us all the time, he knows what we are going through. What we have in store for life, he is within us suffering with us, enjoying with us moment to moment. Life is full of joy and sorrows and they do co-exist as complementary values for each one of us. As I remember Him now, while writing this post - my prayer to God takes the following words ;) God, I am emptying all my thoughts in your presence. I am emptying myself of all the burdens and am moving on from now completely empty. May I stay near your feet always and become a beau

In quest for love

Nightingale sings summer mid day Seeking caress from air's warmth Searching for love in clear sky fragrance leads to hope the search continues This is an attempt to give words to a picture and I would like to cajole more of these mysteries to read my interpretations of what a picture is trying to say.

Jazz Pirouette - my learning

Jazz has never been an easy dance and it takes a lot of time to attain a win, a clarity, a flexibility and it takes one a long way, to help in a day to day life. My personal experience shows that my stamina, flexibility has increased manifolds. I have an attitude in my everyday dealings. Infact I used to tell my team, I was named as one of the best trainer in the company for my training skills, was all because of the trainer in my dance school. They keep talking a lot of things and finally it gets into the system somehow and you never even come to know how it changed your outlook in everything. It brings so much of positivity in the personality because of the relm of emotions we go through in the choreography. And I think a pinch of yoga and wise sayings help. Like I remember the saying by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at a recent event (which Aadesh Goel mentioned he was one of the organizer for the show), "Never let the enjoyment in life go any less, come what may". Even yesterday

A trip to the mountains

The best vacations for me have been the ones, which are promptly decided and we pack the bags and leave on. This happened to be one of such breaks. I spoke to Shily bhaiya and he said ,he and Armaan are planning for rafting holiday and asked if I wanted to come and it was a "yes", for I really needed a break for this year has had me running to hospitals , for so many people, that I was jumping over it. And the most good part was this excitement spread on, Deepa added on and there on I checked with Parents and Nisha Chachi and Arun (who were here on a holiday from Canada) and it was becoming bigger family trip. That was good enough excitement for Aju, Leena and Natasha to join in and before we could close in. We were 11 people already. Keshav was to join in but his hospital trips were unpredictable and he could not predict the days. And since it was instant the tickets were difficult, but it fell in place. The best part in India is you can pay a little extra and get the needf

Time flies ...

I took a leap in time and thought would explore new avenues around. More so this oppurtunity just fell in place on its own and I played on so acceptance was more of following the signs :) (I may be talking Paulo Coelho here but thats the influence a reader bounds to get into :) - if you are reading this Paulo you would be impressed cos you make such an impact) It was a huge decision since I was very closely bonded with my team and they framed a good weigh in my decision factors.More so 10 years of association sort of gets in the system. I remember when I was writing my resignation email, my heart was punding on so fast and I could just not send the email ..I was precipitating. I took help from Seema and Suti for support ..spoke to them both for few minutes, to calm me down and there it was. And I know once I make a decision, I stick to it, so that commitment did follow. The parting was a lot difficult though, as I didnt know how to bring it forward with the team, I was working so close

Jodha Akbar - one sneek peek to a saga

Image
The movie is like a dream rendered in motion. Its a beautiful caricature of the history - the simple quotient that it may not be history doesnt bother you at all. The simplist approach of the narration makes you finally believe that this itself may be history. Its not only a beautiful renediction of the story but the actors charisma also speaks volumes. No other actors could have footed this bill and done as much justice, as they both the leads did. And not only them the supporting cast was equally well polished and groomed. Its a long movie, but still that doesnt bother one also as it never lets you fall apart. Ashutosh magnificantly transports one to battlefield, where the young Akbar is shown to grow up, among betrayals and insecurities, parallely showcasing the journey to his mind, his heart, his soul, his court and jodha's chamber. The chemistry between the two is awesome as they beautifully narrate a few moments so beautifully with their eyes. Akbar's taste of the art fo
