Ghazini - movie review

After such a long time a movie made me write something about it on my blog. Its such a capturing and compelling performance from Aamir, that it left me awestruck. I personally think he has a caliber which brings him to the classiest of the performances in the industry today. His presence in the frames makes one not to wink and to top it all he is looking good. The age which was visible on him in some of his past performances is fading away..maybe it’s a reflection of the work he has done on his body - it takes a lot of pain to achieve that and for all the hard work there he deserves a huge applaud.

The theme of the movie is too violent to my taste, yet I would recommend it to watch for a perfectionist's perfect performance. One of the song "Kaise mujhe tum mil gaye" stays with one even after the movie gets over, its nicely sung, composed and picturized.

I had a huge opinion of the calibre of Amir movies after having watched TZP and RDB. And having watched Memento, I knew Amir had a hit in his hands. But I was sorely disappointed with Ghajini. Though Amir was good (he didnt have much to do - only copy the hero of Memento so frankly speaking not much of a challenge there), the movie had so many flaws, I found it a crass carbon copy of the original. Amir really let me down this time. I am sure if he had watched Memento, Amir being Amir, would have refused to do Ghajini unless the story was made better (though no doubt Amir did a good job).
