What a Wonderful World

Image
I see trees are green, Red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world I see skies are blue, clouds of white Bright blessed days, The dark sacred nights And I think to myself what a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow so pretty in sky There are also in the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They are really saying I love you I hear babies cry, I watch them grow They’ll learn much more than I ever know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

Aziz Premji's speech at IIM Ahmedabad

Azim Premji's Speech at IIM, Ahemdabad While change and uncertainty have always been a part of life, what has been shocking over the last year has been both the quantum and suddenness of change. For many people who were cruising along on placid waters, the wind was knocked out of their sails. The entire logic of doing business was turned on its head. Not only business, but also every aspect of human life has been impacted by the change. What lies ahead is even more dynamic and uncertain. I would like to use this opportunity to share with you some of our own guiding principles of staying afloat in a changing world. This is based on our experience in Wipro. I hope you find them useful. While sudden changes get attention because they are dramatic, it is the gradual changes that are ignored till it is too late....

Yoga - my own definition

Image
I was recently talking about my yoga regime with a friend and he happened to ask me, what is this practice and what is it do for people. Its quite true yet strange that its such a widely owned and renowned practice of Indian culture, yet we have to make separate ways to get to learn it. Its not a part of our schooling or day to day learning, and one needs to know what you can do with it. Yoga, as per me, is not just a practice but almost a ritual. I have been involved with for the last 20 years. Its as much a part of my lifestyle that a day of lapse feels something a-miss in the day. And its been such a long time, yet I am all the time inspired when I meet or learn from new teachers. It has so much in its folds that small variations lead to new creativity. There are typically many branches of yoga in Hindu philosophy including Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Hatha Yoga.Raja Yoga primarily is compiled in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and known simply as yoga . I didn ’t miss my blog for sometime now, until one of the friends discovered and shared that he liked my writings. I was taken by surprise since I was so inactive for a long time and it made me wish to write again, even if not as frequently but as seldom as time permits. I really like the enthusiasm Amitabh Bachhan has for writing and he writes unbelievably good. Sometimes when I read his blog, it leaves me dumbfounded, he is truly truly an artist with the capability to share his emotions and feelings with his audience using the words. Its as well put in as if he would like to tell a story or sit with you like a family member and tell how his day went by. And its also amazing to keep pouring thoughts day after the other. That’s the dimensioning of the way mind works, its throwing thoughts contiguously and writers only need to know they need to capture the flow. There was this email I read today, which said beautifully that ones writings are something one leaves behind for safe keepi...
